Its been another great week! Corey Sims was baptized on Saturday by Elder Condie. It was a great baptismal service. He was active in his Methodist church which he joined and got baptized in 3 years ago. But he decided that our Church is where he wanted to be. He was having some doubts about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, but he knew that our Church was about Jesus Christ. He said that he's going on faith. He bore his testimony at his baptism. He said that he woke up that morning with doubts and worries. He prayed to God for comfort. He decided to open up the Book of Mormon to a random page in hopes that God would answer his prayer. He randomly opened the Book of Mormon to Mosiah 18, the great chapter on baptism. God answered his prayer. God is a God of miracles! Corey plays and tunes pianos. He played us a sweet musical number. It was a great day! I confirmed Corey a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and gave him the Holy Ghost. Corey thanked me! He said afterwards that he was touched when I said in the blessing the words, "God is with you". He said that he felt as if the Heavens opened and he was able to receive the words with great power. God is a God of miracles!
Beverly went to Church for the first time ever. She's been investigating for a long time. I never seen so many obstacles that someone has gone through as I've seen with Beverly. She's almost stopped smoking completely. She's close to getting baptized. That will be the biggest miracle on my mission thus far. Her son is taking the discussion with other missionaries. He's scheduled to be baptized on May 2nd. She can't baptized on that date because she needs to go to church 2 more times before she can be baptized.
We got our transfer calls. Elder Condie is getting transferred. He's a great man. I love him. We've had a great time together. He has an unconquerable spirit. He's a great teacher. He's the most mature 19-year old I've ever met. I'm getting interviewed in an hour by our mission president. He's most likely interviewing me to call me as a district leader. I'll let you know what happens next week.
I love this work. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He died for our sins. He was resurrected on the 3rd day. He lives! The Church of Jesus Christ is His Church. Thomas S Monson is called of Him to be our prophet in these days.
