Letter #26 (May 4, 2009)

It's been another great week. Now, not every moment of my mission has been dandy. There's been some tough moments. But at the end of each day I could see the miracles and blessings that I received. For instance, on Saturday I was really tired all day. We were contacting people and tracted a bit. We had little success. But even then, there were some bright moments. We went to the Stake Priesthood meeting. We got there 30 minutes early so we could rehearse with the choir the song "The Morning Trumpet" which we were to perform in the meeting. Now, you all know that I can't sing. I was dragged into this by my companion. But it went great. That's the best I've sung in my life. Beverly, our investigator had called us during the meeting (7pm). I called her back after the meeting, but she didn't pick up her phone. Marcos, a member from the ward and one of the coolest guys on earth, drove us back home. I was prompted to call Beverly again while we were driving back. She picked up. She was crying. She had a severe headache. She asked us to keep her in our prayer. I told her to hold on. I told Marcos and Elder McPharlin that Beverly is in pain and that she wants us to keep her in our prayers, but should we go over there and give her a blessing. They both said yes! We rushed over there. We said a prayer in the car. We walked to her door and you could hear her crying inside her house. We entered her home. She was in great pain. We were guided by our Father in Heaven. Elder McPharlin anointed her and Marcos sealed the anointing and blessed her. It was a great experience. Beverly felt much better. God is a God of miracles! The Priesthood power is real.

Since Beverly smoked last week, she won't get baptized this upcoming Saturday. We still have faith that she will get baptized. God is all-powerful.
I love this work!
