I'm now in Washington, NC. Its a town of about 10,000. It's near the coast of North Carolina. We're almost surrounded by water. Its beautiful. It has a nice downtown with a boardwalk along the water. It reminds me of Southstreet seaport, but not as big. I love the fact that there are no hills over here because its on the coastal plain. We could ride bikes forever. The people are generally nice. We've had some hostile people attack us with anti-mormon comments. We've talked to several ministers and I invited them all to pray to know if our Church is true as I did 6 years ago. Its been fun. I love it here! It's a nice branch we have here in Washington. We have a good, young Branch President. They are receptive and nice to me. I have a great companion named Elder Collard. We've been having a great time. He goes home in 5 weeks.
We set a baptismal date with Kevin Thigpen. He's from Brooklyn. He met the missionaries about 5 days before I came to Washington. He went to chuch last Sunday and yesterday. We taught him twice in member's home. He's solid!
I was able to call my dad yesterday. It was great hearing from him. God is blessing him. This is the Lord's Church. Joseph Smith was called of God. We have the priesthood which brings salvation.
Love, Elder Olaya
