It was a slower week. We had a great experience with Becky Voyles. We contacted her a month ago and gave her a Book of Mormon. We taught her for the 1st time about 10 days ago. She had been reading the Book of Mormon from the beginning. She should already be up to Alma. She's amazing! We had a powerful lesson with her 10 days ago. We helped her recognize the Spirit. She said that she had been praying to know if the Book of Mormon was true, but that she may have been lacking the real intent. We had a great lesson with her. When we saw her last week she told us that she's been enlightened as she's been reading the Book of Mormon. She has felt the Spirit. She then told us that when Elder Haws shared the 1st vision the previous week, she saw a great light eminating from the middle of Elder Haws' chest to the top of his head. That was her answer to the divinity of Joseph Smith's mission as the Lord's prophet. She told us that she told her close friends that she was going to pursue our church, and they were surprisingly supportive. We set a baptismal date for September 25th. She's going to be out of town for the next 2 weekends but should make it to Church in 2 weeks. We feel good about her.
We've had some good member visits with the branch members. We had one with the Penhollows. We invited them think of a friend that they've been thinking about to share the gospel with. We then shared a spiritual thought with them. Then we invited them to pray for their friends and to allow time for the Spirit to reveal to them what they could do to help their friends receive the gospel. It was a great experience. We knelt down and Sister Penhollow offered a prayer. The Penhollows were guided by the Holy Ghost. Jesse, their 15 year old daughter was inspired to invite her friend Hope Jarvis to sing with her in Sacrament meeting. The Holy Ghost was present in that experience.
This is the Lord's Church. I'm grateful for this opportunity to serve him.
Love, Elder Olaya
