Letter #9 (Dec. 22, 2008)

What's goin on?
I've had a great week. I got a new companion and he's awesome. He's so funny and I love how he teaches. He's very bold and gets down to business. So we had a christmas zone conference on Saturday. About 4 weeks ago the mission president's wife asked me to do a birthday rap for the mission president at this conference. I did. It was in front of every body at the cultural hall as everyone was sitting and eating. President Wallis got up and everybody sang happy birthday. One of the AP's gave President Wallis some gifts and said that Elder Olaya has a surprise for you. I recited my rap to him. He loved it! Everyone loved it! I even loved it! I'm already well-known on my mission.

Wanda made it to church again. She's making some great strides and she still wants to get baptized on Jan 5th her bday. Its amazing to see her transformation. She still has a ways to go, especially with the word of wisdom, but she's committed to stop smoking and drinking coffee today. She had such a light in her eye in church yesterday. I love this work.

Merry Christmas
Elder Olaya
