Letter #22 (April 9, 2009)

I had an amazing week! General Conference was so inspiring, uplifting, faith-building, and testimony gaining. Every talk was amazing! I loved how the leaders testified of Thomas S Monson's prophetic call. Utchdorf is a fierce leader whom there is no doubt that he's an apostle of Christ. D Todd Christofferson gave an overpowering talk on making and keeping covenants. I love Eyring! That's all I have to say about him. Holland!!!!!!! Neil L Anderson is an apostle and I love his testimony. My testimony today is stronger than at any other point in my life. I want to love all of God's children. I want to be better and improve gradually for the rest of my life. I want to serve others and be a friend to all. God did speak to us this weekend!

The spirit of conference carried Elder Condie and I as we taught Corey, our favorite investigator. We've been teaching him for 10 weeks. He's being fellow shipped by his German neighbor, Fabiola. They just starting dating. They're both in their 50's and they should get married in the temple. Corey is a great man. He was baptized into the Methodist church a few years ago. He's active in their church mostly in their musical programs. He's a musician. But we've been teaching him. He's elect! We committed him to baptism before but he wanted to take his time and learn more. But yesterday after conference we brought the power of God with us as we bore our undeniable testimonies and taught him great truths. He also saw most of General Conference and he was very impressed. I kept referring to my baptism and how it has blessed my life. The last time I mentioned my baptism and shared how its blessed my life, he mentioned that he's been thinking about being baptized. Yes!!! Our intention was to set a date with him when we saw him. So, great was my joy when he brought it up before we did. We set a date for April 18th which we had prayed for during our weekly planning. He accepted! It's going to happen!

Sam Cooper a 17-year old who has been investigating for almost a year might get baptized on Easter pending permission from his mom in front of two witnesses. That's going to happen as well. We're working with others and it seems like Iantha and Melanie may get baptized soon as well. I love this work! I'm praying fervently for our investigators to enter the waters of baptism.

I love them! I love you all! God is a God of miracles and He speaks to His Prophet Thomas S Monson.
