I've been on my mission for 8 months. I'm a 1/3 done. I had my final interview with President Wallis. He goes home at the end of this month. He's a great man. Sister Wallis is amazing! We taught Kathy again at the Swansons with Brother Kirby there. It went really well. She seemed to be understanding the message and she maintained eye contact with us as we taught her. She's going to read and pray and then she'll get baptized when she gets her answer. Our other investigators are not progressing.
We stoped by Beverly's place. We called her but she never called back. We saw her yesterday. She said that she's going through a lot in her life. She doesn't want to take the discussions anymore. This was tough for me and her. I bore testimony to her. She knows the truth but she feels that she has too much burden to bear. I told her that she knows that she was happier when she was meeting with us and progressing towards God. She agreed. I told her that I've been through trials but as I put my trust in God, He has always provided a way for me to overcome my obstacles. It was tough. She cried because she has a great appreciation for what we've been able to do for her. I tried hard not to let my emotions get in the way. I had prayed beforehand for God to put His word in my mouth. I was very loving but honest. She thanked us for our prayers in her behalf. She said that we gave her much strength and held her up. I gave her a hug and we parted ways. She said that she wants me to give her the gift of the Holy Ghost wherever I'm at and whenever. To keep her in our prayers. She has hope for the future. I left her with a prayer. When I left her and we got in the car, I could not hold my emotions in any longer. I wept! We went home and I had a humble prayer to God thanking him for all that he has given me and I prayed for her.
I'm grateful for my mission. God is a God of miracles and Prayer is Powerful. This is the Church of Jesus Christ. He is our Lord and Savior. We have a living prophet named Thomas S Monson. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
