Letter #44 (Sept. 21, 2009)

I had another great week. The days are going fast. I must be having fun. Last week, I went to Raleigh for a day to teach with another Spanish speaking missionary. His name is Elder Hulse. He's an assistant to the mission president. I had a great day teaching Hispanics with Elder Hulse. We saw so many miracles. Elder Hulse is an amazing teacher. His spanish is great. He's from Idaho. My spanish is improving.

The zone leaders and the assistants were addressed and instructed by Elder Jay E Jensen of the Presidency of the Seventy. I learned much from Elder Jensen. I was edified and my testimony was strengthened that this is the Lord's work and that we are His servants.

The zone leaders and assistants are going to be addressed by Elder Maynes of the Seventy tonight. He's then going to address the mission the following 2 days. If you were in New York in April of 2008 in Stake Conference, you would recall that Elder Maynes addressed us. He asked President Buckner to call on me to bear my testimony during the conference. I was surprised, but I did bear my testimony. I'm excited to see him again. My mission president says that Elder Maynes remembers me. That made me feel good. I'm sure the mission is going to enjoy his visit.

We're teaching and testifying. We're doing great things down here. I love this work. I know that this is the Lord's work. Joseph Smith was called of God to restore His Gospel. I love you all.

Elder Olaya
