Letter #65 (February 22, 2010)

I had a great week. It started off slow. It seemed like nobody was home when we knocked on doors. We were able to find many new investigators by the end of the week. I found out from my former companion in Chapel Hill, Elder Koehler, that Ray got baptized. What a miracle! Of all people! He went from writing anti-religious articles to getting baptized into the Lord's Church. I'm happy!

I gave a talk in Sacrament meeting yesterday. I was really worried because I had to give the talk in spanish. I prayed for the Spirit to guide me and give me the gift of tongues. It was the best spanish I ever spoke in my life. I literally felt the spirit give me the words to say as I gave my talk. I talked about the atonement and I connected it to missionary work to fulfill God's purpose to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. I shared some of my life's experiences. It went really well.

I'm grateful for this work. I know that this is the Lord's Church.

Hello Elder Olaya! There is a Highbench concert this weekend and it made me think of you! Hope you are well. We'll be seeing you soon in October. The time is flying!
