Letter # 66 (March 1, 2010)

What an amazing week!  I never had so many appointments fall through on my mission.  There were many commitments that were not kept by our investigators.  It was very dissapointing!  But we persisted and persevered.  We continued to press forward and we were able to have a great end of the week and we have a great week in store.  Elder Stewart and I are teaching with power and we're being led by the Spirit.  He's such a dedicated and obedient missionary.  Everyone needs to meet him and shake his hands.  He's a representative of Christ!  I had to elevated my level of work and commitment because of him.  Great is the work.

We're working with this family from Mexico named the Bolanos.  They have 5 kids.  They got married 4 months ago.  They haven't been the best in keeping their appointments, but with our persistence we've been able to teach them consistently recently.  The husband is very concerned about their marriage and feels that our message could bless them.  He works a lot and sometimes on Sunday when his work calls him in.  It'll take some time for them to progress in their learning of the gospel.  But we have faith that all will work out.

Faith is key in the work.  We need to nurture our faith by being obedient and also believing.  The mission has been hard work and I'm grateful for the good habits that I'm forming.  This is the Lord's Church.  Joseph Smith was called of God.

Love, Elder Olaya
