We had a great week. We were able to teach a man named A. Sespedez how to pray. He's in his 50's and has always recited prayers that were written in the bible or from a Catholic prayer book. It took us an additional 15 mins after our lesson to finally get him to say a prayer from his heart. It was one of the great moments of my mission. That's what being a missionary is all about. The great thing about this story is that when my mission president was interviewing me 2 Fridays ago, he asked me about Segundo Sespedez, his brother as you studied our potential investigator section of our area book. We probably would've never visited that house again if it weren't for President Cotterell getting prompted by the Spirit concerning Adromedo's brother Segundo. God is a God of miracles.
It was a great week filled with miracles. We had 2 former investigators come to church. One of them is named Teo who we met the night before in precise timing as we were leaving a bakery. We had a member take him to church, another member take him back, and a 3rd member pick him up for dinner at that member's home with us and the member's family. We taught him there as well. It was a great Sunday.
I'm grateful for this work. I know that this is the Church of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I love you all.
Love,
Elder Olaya
