Letter #50 (November 9, 2009)

I had a really good week. We have seen many miracles. Our hard work and faith are paying off. John Collins got in touch with his friend Clinton Davis from the West Coast. He used to be the Temple President in the San Diego Temple. The first thing he told Clinton was that he was about to become a Mormon. We were estatic when we heard of their conversation. He's getting closer to baptism.

Elder Koehler and I were walking last Friday night trying to find people to teach. Elder Koehler was prompted to have us knock on a door. It was the first door we knocked that evening after walking for awhile. A guy in his 50's opened the door and let us in. His name is Bill Derey. He's a mailman. He knew about the Church. His cousin converted to the Church many years ago. We taught him quite a bit and he accepted to learn more. That was a miracle!

Jeff is doing well. We taught him last Thursday. He said that he's been reading the Book of Mormon. He said that he prayed to God and that he felt good. It was different than just talking to himself. We had a good lesson about the plan of Salvation. He's smart but also very humble. We feel good about him. He came to church yesterday.

Things are going well in Chapel Hill. I love this work and I know that it's true. God is a God of miracles. We have a living prophet on the earth that communicates with God and teaches us true principles. That Prophet is Thomas S Monson.
