Letter #58 (Jan. 4, 2010)

I had the best week of my mission. Elder Walker and I had a week of miracles. I have seen the hands of God in this work more than ever before. We found a bunch of people that we're currently teaching. We were led by the Spirit. It was amazing. My spanish has been improving little by little each day. I'm grateful for Elder Walker. He's 6 foot 6. He's been patient and loving with me. He's a proven leader. Its amazing to see him teach. He's a great missionary.

Its been an humbling week trying to improve my spanish. I struggled while teaching. I would receive a thought in English but then I would fumble in my teaching as I try to translate it into spanish. But I've had many prayers in my heart and I have been comforted. I've been able to have solid teaching and testifying moments during each lesson where I know that my speech was guided by the Spirit. My tongue has been loosed and the Spirit has been felt.

I serve in the Raleigh 3 branch. There are 3 sets of missionary companionships in the branch divided into 3 geographic areas. We live with 2 other missionaries. The branch love us and they are missionary minded. I went up and bore my testimony yesterday in Sacrament meeting. I was the 1st one to get up. 2 new missionaries in our branch bore their testimonies as well about this great work. The members followed with missionary- based testimonies. Great things are about to happen.

I love this work and I know that its true.

Love, Elder Olaya
