Letter # 59 (Jan.11, 2009)

I had a great week. Elder Walker and I continue to find new people to teach. We set a baptismal date with Luis for January 23rd. He's been getting taught for a little while by us. He's from Honduras. He has a testimony of the Church. He participated in Sunday School and Priesthood meeting. I'm excited for him. Fernanda Baez is another of our progressing investigators. One of her sons got baptized several months ago. Another son of her named Juan (11 years-old) got baptized 2 weeks ago. He's a great kid. Fernanda is struggling with worshipping the virgin Mary. This is something that a lot of Catholics are accustomed to doing. We committed her to pray only to our Father in Heaven for this week. I have faith that she will make that change.

We had several people tell us that they were coming to church, but didn't show up. It's dissapointing, but we just have to keep going and doing what's right. This is the Lord's work. I'm His representative at this time. I love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Love, Elder Olaya
